FAQ

Daycare/Boarding

Do you have live-feed cameras?

At this time, we do not offer live-feed cameras for customer viewing.

Are dogs fed separately?

During rest time, each dog is fed individually in their crate. This ensures they receive the correct portion of food and any necessary medications without the risk of food-related conflicts, even among siblings. Feeding separately helps create a calm and stress-free environment for all dogs in our care.

Where do the dogs sleep?

At the end of the night, each dog is comfortably settled into a crate that has been thoughtfully prepared with their personal bed or blankets to create a cozy, familiar space. A secure crate water bucket is provided to ensure they stay hydrated. Once all the dogs are settled, the lights are dimmed, and calm, soothing music is played to create a peaceful and relaxing environment for a restful night.

Does my dog need to be spayed/neutered?

We do not require dogs to be spayed or neutered to stay at our facility. However, we kindly ask that females in heat remain at home, as we cannot guarantee a complete lack of interaction with intact males. Additionally, intact males may have limited participation in group play, as we only allow one intact male per group to ensure a safe and harmonious environment for all dogs.

How many dogs are together at once?

Our groups are 10 dogs or less. We group our packs by both size and temperament. Some of our older dogs prefer a smaller and less energetic group. Some dogs love to run around and play well in larger groups. Some dogs need their alone time outside. All dogs are different and we cater to your individual dogs' needs. Playtime is monitored by staff, all trained in dog behavior.

Why does my dog need a First Day Assessment and a day of Daycare before Boarding?

We want to make sure your dog is comfortable in our facility and a good fit for our pack before you head out of town. We ask that you bring your dog in for a First Day Assessment and another day of daycare. We will do an assessment to understand the dog’s temperament so we know which play group to put them in. When the pet parent comes to pick up the dog for the first time, they are building trust in the dog, and our facility, helping your dog be more at ease next time they arrive.

It doesn’t happen often, but occasionally our facility is just not the right fit for a dog. We will share our experience with the pet parent when they come for pick up. We would much rather this happen on the evaluation days than on the day you are leaving for a 7-day vacation! Assessments are for the safety of your dog, our pack, and our awesome staff.

What is a First Day Assessment?

Anytime we have a new dog come into our pack, we do an assessment. We will do this even if we have met the dog before, but have not seen them in more than 6 months.

These assessments are conducted similarly to a typical daycare day, so we kindly request that you drop off your dog between 7 AM and 9 AM and pick up between 3 PM and 6 PM. This schedule allows us to maximize our time with your pet.

During an assessment, one of our more experienced staff members will take the dog through a variety of exercises designed to evaluate temperament. Dog temperament can change over time and can be different at daycare than it is at home. We will evaluate your dog in different groups to determine the best fit. Please note that these groups may vary from day to day, and a particular group may not always suit your dog on that occasion. Our aim is to ensure that your dog has a positive experience and remains as stress-free as possible.

The safety of your dog, other dogs, and our staff is our priority. The assessment is a step we can take to ensure all dogs have a fun and safe time in our care.

What do I need to bring?

It is essential for you to bring your dog's food, as we want to avoid any tummy upset from a change in diet. If we happen to run low on food during your dog's stay, we will either ask if you could drop off more, arrange for someone to purchase a small bag and add the cost to your final checkout charge, or inquire if we can provide house food for an additional fee.

We kindly request that you bring your dog's food in an airtight container, such as a Ziplock bag or a food storage container. You may also bring a bed or blanket, provided that your dog is not prone to tearing them up; the same applies to toys.

Please provide us with a standard collar as well. We remove harnesses, as they are more susceptible to damage during group play, and we also take off prong collars due to safety concerns. Keeping collars on allows us to manage the dogs effectively if necessary.

Please DO NOT bring:

  • Bowls, we have plenty and we cannot guarantee your bowl doesn't get lost
  • Breakable items, i.e. glass

What is Individual Daycare/Boarding?

Individual daycare and boarding services are available for dogs that thrive in a solo environment rather than in the company of other dogs. These dogs will receive dedicated outdoor time for potty breaks and playtime with our staff. Select three activities for your dog during their individual stay:

  • - Stuffed Kong Treat (size appropriate)
  • - Puzzle/Snuffle Mat for Dinner/Treats
  • - Specialized treats for anxiety or stress
  • - 30 minutes of leash training and outdoor practice
  • - 30 minutes of playtime in our largest indoor/outdoor pen

What is my dogs' schedule like?

Dogs need both exercise and rest. Your dog will start the day resting in the boarding room, near the other dogs they will play with. Our daycare staff does 1-hour rotations, 1 hours of rest, and 1 hour of play. Your dog will have fun playing in our outdoor yards with their group and then come back in for a little rest time. Depending on the weather, and what time your dog arrives and goes home, they will be outside playing between 4-6 hours! Our goal is for you to pick up a happy, and tired dog, at the end of the day!

Any boarding dogs will be taken out first thing in the morning when staff arrives and again at the end of the night before they leave for the day. They are automatically included in daycare rotations.

What vaccines are required?

  • Rabies
  • Bordetella (kennel cough)
  • DHLPP (or similar)

Records can be emailed to us at reception@alldogadventures.com or uploaded directly from your customer portal.

If you are uploading documents to the portal, please inform us via email so that we can be aware to check; our system does not operate automatically and requires manual input of these records.

Board & Train/Dayschool

Does my dog need to attend daycare before Dayschool?

While not mandatory, we highly encourage that your dog completes both a First Day Assessment and a day of daycare prior to a Dayschool reservation. This is because our Dayschool dogs have the opportunity to engage in outdoor play with other pups in between their training sessions. Our goal is to ensure that your dog feels comfortable and enjoys their time with us.

Does my dog need to attend daycare before a Board & Train?

It is not mandatory, but we highly encourage that your dog undergo both a First Day Assessment and a day of daycare prior to a Board & Train reservation. As your pup will be staying overnight with us, we will ensure they are taken outside for potty breaks first thing in the morning and before leaving in the evening. These potty breaks typically occur with other dogs. Our trainer will advise us on whether your pup can participate with others during these breaks.

Group Classes

I have taken classes elsewhere, why should I start in Life Skills 1?

You have nothing to lose! You can fill the gaps in your foundation while you and your dog move through the program at your speed. If you start Level 1 with strong foundational skills, you will graduate quickly and move on to more challenging classes. Also, our Life Skills classes foundation will serve you well should you decide to take Advanced Classes with us.

Why are there prerequisites for advanced classes?

Our dogs and we need to learn how to walk before running. Our advanced classes have different prerequisites depending on the course because they require a foundation of skills to build upon. Prerequisites give you and your dog the experience you’ll need to succeed in our advanced classes.

Can my reactive dog still attend group class?

It depends on the type of reactivity exhibited by your dog, whether it stems from fear or frustration. Reactivity does not always indicate that your dog is aggressive or unkind; often, it reflects a response to perceived threats or frustration from being unable to interact with something.

If the reactivity may lead to distractions that inhibit others’ learning or poses a risk to others, we recommend private lessons to address the reactivity prior to participating in group classes.

What do I need to bring?

Your furry friend, you, a leash, collar or harness, and a bunch of tasty treats!

How long is each class session?

Each class is scheduled for one hour; however, please allow extra time in case it starts or runs late.

Grooming

When is drop-off/pick-up?

Drop-off is available from 7:00 AM to 9:00 AM.

Pick-up is permitted before 11:00 AM and after 3:00 PM.

What happens if my dog is matted?

If your dog is found to be matted, our groomers will contact you via phone to discuss the degree of matting and seek your verbal consent to proceed with shaving the mats. Should the matting be too severe for our groomers to manage safely, we will request that you pick up your pet and recommend that you consult a veterinarian groomer for further assistance.
